I think some of the methods I discussed in week 4 are interesting and might be good to use once in a while, and some will I never use.
The Silent Way would be something that I would use. Not all the time obviously, but maybe for a couple of lessons per year.
Suggestopedia would be quite hard to use in a normal Dutch classroom, since there aren't any comfy chairs around.
The Classical Method is maybe interesting to use as a way to practise translation, but not as a full teaching method.
The Audiolingual Method has some good elements, but most of it seems rather useless in a good lesson.
The Direct Method has even more good elements. The 'only everyday words' part is great, and a lot of talking is great too!
I guess my teaching style should be a combination of these, I suppose all teachers teaching styles are. I think switching between styles is the way to go, you don't get bored of the same style and for the students it is always something fresh.
Instead of always following the Stepping Stones book, you can switch it up with a drama activity, a lesson with only talking, a lesson where the teacher will not talk at all or a lesson where you translate texts.
